Rokurosya Urushi Lacquer Soup Bowl by Yoshio Sakai. 

These fine Urushi bowls are made of Japanese cherry birch, which is a species of birch native to Japan. The bowl is made in Fukui known for their Japanese urushi technique and the shape is easy to hold.  Coated with Urushi lacquer, continual use will season the bowls to develop a beautiful antiqued appearance. Urushi Lacquerware matures with the progression of time, allowing the user to enjoy its changing expression. The product has a beautiful modern look, light-weight, and elegance; a characteristic of traditional Japanese craft.
