This is the first bread plate from awabiware that was a result of a wood craftsman and a lacquer craftsman working together. Urushi Lacquer, a traditional natural finish, is used for the wooden plates of abalone wear. Unlike the glossy lacquer finish, it features a matte texture so that you can use it frequently for everyday use. Skilled craftsmen in Shikoku work on wood and skilled craftsmen in Wajima work on Urushi lacquer.

These Urushi bread plates have applied the lacquer at least 5 to 6 times to create a beautiful finish.

Using Microwave, and Dishwasher is prohibited.

Using the woodware in under direct fire is prohibited.

Do not use metal scouring pads, harsh abrasive, steel wool, scouring powder as it may scratch and weaken the urushi woodenware. Use neutral detergent only.
