Before using the iron kettle for the first time, fill it with water up to about 80% of its full capacity and heat it over medium flame until it comes to a boil. Be sure not to heat the kettle while it is empty. Once the water reaches a boil, discard it. Repeat this process two to three times, or until the drained water becomes clear.

 

After each use, make sure to empty the kettle completely and keep it dry. Do not leave water sitting inside. Let the residual heat dry the interior naturally, or wipe it dry. If moisture still remains, remove the lid and gently heat the empty kettle for about 30 seconds to allow the remaining water to evaporate.

 

This iron kettle is intended solely for boiling water. Avoid touching or scrubbing the interior, as it forms a natural mineral coating over time, known as scale, which helps protect the kettle and enhances the quality of the water.
